Robert married his wife, Connie, in 1965, and Connie soon became involved in the family business as Mandic Motors'
Office Manager and Dispatcher. She left in 1985 to become a Realtor®, but continues today as the Treasurer.
Mandic Motors
signed their first Auto Club Contract in September of 1972, and the business has grown into a 13-truck, 13-driver, 2,400-calls-per-month operation serving the Huntington Beach area. In December 2003, Mandic Motors
became part of AAA's Battery Service Provider Network. In traditional Mandic Motors
fashion, the station has become a top provider in battery sales and incentives.
Bob takes great pride in the service quality provided by his drivers and says that customer service was something that his father instilled in him. He believes that a part of his success is derived from surrounding himself with quality people.
In addition to successfully running his business, Bob has found time to service his community by being a City Councilman in 1978 and Mayor of Huntington Beach for two terms. He has also volunteered his time to the improvement of the Towing Industry and has twice served as President of the Orange County Chapter of the California Tow Truck Association. He was honored by the CTTA in Reno, Nevada, in May of 2004 with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
For her part, Connie achieved the Soroptimist International Woman of the Year in 2000 and Orange County Republican Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001. She also served 8 years on the Huntington Beach Environmental Board and is a former Huntington Beach Planning Commissioner and Chair.
